Comoros Islands (2010)

Date of issue: 2010
Name of issue: Les araignées de la région de l'océan Indien
(Spiders of the Indian ocean region)
Number of arachnid related stamps in issue: 5/125

Every stamp of this series contains two spiders. The first family and species name corresponds to the spider in the back and the other to the spider in the front.

For tarantula enthusiasts, this series contains the only Poecilotheria sp. stamp that I know of.

This series is ridiculously huge, there are 50 souvenir sheets in total, 25 containing one stamp and 25 with four stamps. So 25 themes (or subjects) in total. Because of budget constraints, I decided not to get them all.

This series is also available as imperforates and as deluxe sheets, although I never actually seen the deluxe sheets for the spider theme, I just suppose it exists as there are several of the other themes available in this format.
