United Kingdom (1991)

Date of issue: February 5th, 1991
Name of issue: Good Luck
Number of arachnid related stamps in issue: 3/10

I just recentl;y discovered this series. The spider stamps are not so easy to spot as they are almost "hidden" details within the overall theme. The artwork of this series is really amazing and all the stamps of the strip combine to make one big image.

United Nations - Spiders

Date of issue: June 20th, 2003
Name of issue: International year of freshwater
Number of arachnid related stamps in issue: 1/6

This one is almost impossible to find. Thanks to the listing of a very zealous vendor. I could not confirm 100% from the scan he provided, so I decided to take a leap of faith (the stamp was cheap). When I received the stamp, I could still not confirm it, I had to look at the high resolution scan to make sure that indeed there was a spider there on the left side.

Michel #: 923 (New York)
order: Araneae

United Nations (2009)

Date of issue: April 16th, 2009
Name of issue: Endangered species
Number of arachnid related stamps in issue: 3/12

It is my understanding that every year (for quite a few years now), the United Nations issue a series on endangered species. In 2009, they had one about arthropods.

Note the CITES logo on the full sheet. Unless it has been added recently, as far as I know, Dolomedes plantarius is not on CITES. But it is threatened by habitat loss.
