Congo-Zaire (Kinsasha) (1996)

Date of issue: October 16th, 1996
Number of arachnid related stamps in issue: 1/38

The souvenir sheets is also available as imperforated. In 2000, they reused nine stamps of this series with overprint when Zaire became the Democratic Republic of Congo with the currency change. The Sphecides sp. stamp is one of them, but the Peucetia one was never reused that way.

Here is another issue that I am unsure of the legal validity. I am unable to find a catalog number, which normally is the proper hint for a cinderalla issue.

Congo-Zaire (Kinsasha) (2002)

Date of issue: 2002
Number of arachnid related stamps in issue: 0/7 (souvenir sheet)

This is a cinderella stamp (not valid for postal use) with a spider in the gutter. Note that many similar stamps have been printed with other country's names on them (see Benin)

You can sometimes tell just by looking at the senseless themes put together, like here, a shark with a spider... makes perfect sense!

Michel #: none - cinderella
order: Araneae
family: Araneidae (suspected)

Congo-Zaire (Kinsasha) - Spiders

I did not crop this sheet since the spider is big enough to spot.

Congo-Zaire (Kinsasha) (2011)

Date of issue: 2011
Number of arachnid related stamps in issue: 0/?

Not sure how many stamps there are in this series. There seems to be tons of different sheets of different themes. Of course, like often, this one makes no sense at all with some dog stamps and on the souvenir sheet there are scorpions!

Michel #: ?
order: Scorpiones
family: Buthidae
Androctonus mauretanicus (Pocock, 1902)
