Ecuador* (2014)

Date of issue: 2014
Number of arachnid related stamps in issue: 4/4

Well of course, these are illegal stamps. An issue from Pinzon Island, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, showing Salticidae spiders from Australia!

Anyhow, I could not resist, even if I normally do not like stamps with pictures. These little spiders have been an internet sensation for a while, I guess it was only a question of time before someone prints them on stamps.

It has been brought to my attention that these images were stolen from Mr. Jurgen Otto. Sadly, it is extremely common (if not the "norm") that images or art work are used without permission to print cinderella / illegal stamps.

You can view and appreciate one of the original pictures on Mr. Otto's flickr account HERE
